Businessmen told to help census

JAKARTA (JP): South Jakarta Mayor Pardjoko has asked
businessmen to give adequate and honest answers to the 1996
Economic Census.

He told 250 businessmen, who will be respondents in the census
on Tuesday, that the administration will keep all answers and
information confidential, as required by the regulations, Antara
reported yesterday.

The results of the census will be used as the basic material
for national development, Pardjoko said.

The nationwide economic census was officially launched by
President Soeharto on Dec. 1. The census will take two months to
complete.

South Jakarta has become an economic center, in line with the
growth of business centers and office buildings in the last
decade, he said. (sur)
