'Businessmen' rob two cars

JAKARTA: Posing as businessmen, five members of a robbery gang made off on Tuesday with two cars belonging to their new business partners.

Jakarta Police said on Wednesday the two victims, Ferdinand Nababan, 49, and Sa'ud Bangun Tambun, 43, met with the five for a business meeting in Citraland, West Jakarta.

In the middle of the talks, the five suggested that they all go to the PT Totalindo office to continue their meeting.

Halfway to the office in two separate cars, the gang took control of the vehicles and dropped off the victims near Cawang, East Jakarta.

The stolen cars are: an 2002 Isuzu Panther with license plate number B7729CB, which belongs to Ferdinand, while Bangun's is a Toyota Kijang, license plate number B2643SR. -- JP
