Businessman dies in police custody

TANGERANG: A businessman identified as Paulus, 45, was found
dead in the custody of Curug Police sub-precinct Saturday, just
hours after he was interrogated for allegedly beating up his wife
and raping his maid.

Tangerang police detective chief Adj. Insp Adex Yudiswan said
on Saturday that Paulus, 45, a resident of the Kelapa Dua housing
complex in Curug, Tangerang, was picked up by police on Friday
evening and questioned until 4:30 a.m. on Saturday. Police found
him dead at 6 a.m.

The cause of his death was not immediately clear. Police said
Paulus committed a suicide, but offered little explanation about
how he killed himself.

Police said Paulus's wife Ida, 37, reported her husband for
allegedly beating her up during a quarrel Friday afternoon, while
his maid Siti, 23, told police that she had been raped by her
boss while Ida was away the sane afternoon.

However, there were no independent sources to confirm the
