Businesses in Cirebon are being urged to prepare for Eid al-Fitr bonus (THR) payments to employees, ensuring compliance with the stipulated regulations. “According to regulations, THR must be paid no later than seven days before Eid al-Fitr,” said the Head of the Labour Planning and Industrial Relations Division of the Cirebon City Labour Office, Cucu Kurnia, on Thursday (February 26).

Cucu further reminded business owners to fulfil this obligation. “Business owners are obliged to pay THR to employees no later than a week before Eid. It would be even better if it is paid earlier,” said Cucu. The amount of THR to be paid is one month’s salary, as stipulated.

The THR payment regulations refer to the Minister of Manpower Regulation Number 6 of 2016 concerning Religious Holiday Allowances for Workers/Labour in Companies. According to him, although a new circular from the Ministry of Manpower regarding the technicalities of THR payments in 2026 has not yet been issued, the payment pattern remains the same each year, namely a maximum of seven days before the holiday.

“The amount of THR is one month’s salary. For this reason, we will carry out monitoring during Ramadan,” he said.

The Cirebon City Labour Office will also open a THR complaint desk at the office to accommodate reports from workers who do not receive their rights.

In addition to THR supervision, the Labour Office also plans to monitor the implementation of the 2026 City Minimum Wage and provide guidance to around 150 companies in the Cirebon City area. “We will also monitor compliance with the City Minimum Wage, the ratification of company regulations, the drafting of collective labour agreements, and other industrial relations,” said Cucu.

Through these measures, the Labour Office hopes that companies can comply with all labour regulations, thereby creating harmonious and fair working relationships. (H-3)
