PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) is committed to empowering the community’s economy through more inclusive and sustainable micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development programmes. Through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, PGN gives special attention to high-risk profile MSMEs and entrepreneurs with disabilities. The programme is implemented via the Micro and Small Business Funding Programme (PUMK), a collaboration between PGN and BRI.

As part of the programme, PGN is organising an event titled ‘Enhancing PUMK Programme for BRI-Channelled MSMEs and Disabled Entrepreneurs through Impact Measurement and Revenue Optimisation’.

Training and mentoring are conducted in two batches covering Tangerang and Serang regions. The first batch took place from 19 to 21 May 2026 at Sahid Karawaci Hotel, involving 24 participants: 16 PUMK clients and eight disabled entrepreneurs.

Corporate Secretary Fajriyah Usman stated the programme is part of the company’s effort to ensure MSME empowerment reaches businesses facing greater challenges.

‘PGN believes MSME development isn’t just about financial assistance but requires sustained, targeted mentoring. This programme ensures MSMEs, including those with disabilities and higher-risk profiles, have equal opportunities to grow, enhance business capabilities, and strengthen competitiveness,’ said Fajriyah.

The mentoring programme is designed to strengthen participants’ business capacity through impact measurement and revenue optimisation. Overall, the initiative targets 40 MSMEs as beneficiaries.

PGN ensures mentoring continues beyond the three-day face-to-face training. Participants will receive six months of follow-up mentoring via individual sessions.

Focus areas include business strategy development, capacity building, marketing optimisation, and financial management.

One participant, Wiwin, said the programme provided valuable insights into business development and revenue growth strategies.

‘Besides gaining practical knowledge and new experiences, we’ve expanded our networks with fellow MSMEs. The mentoring has been instrumental in discussing business challenges directly,’ Wiwin said.

Through this sustained mentoring, PGN hopes its MSME partners, including disabled entrepreneurs and those with complex business challenges, will enhance competitiveness, expand opportunities, and foster more inclusive and sustainable business growth. (E-3)
