Business Strategy Shifts, ESG Now a Decisive Factor
Jakarta - Sustainability has now become a business strategy that influences the direction of corporate development across various sectors. Business players need to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles and innovation so that business growth can go hand in hand with creating long-term impact.
The topic was discussed in a Sustainable Business Sharing Session entitled ‘Empowering Future Leaders through Entrepreneurial Sustainability’ organised by Olahkarsa in collaboration with Ciputra University Jakarta. The forum brought together industry players and academics to discuss the link between entrepreneurship, sustainability, and the application of ESG principles in business development.
Speakers included PT Pegadaian’s Director of Network and Operations Eka Pebriansyah, Associate Professor at Ciputra University and Deputy Head of Export for Kadin East Java Eric Harianto, Arya Noble Group’s Head of Sustainability, Security & Safety Oemar Saputra, and Olahkarsa CEO and Co-Founder Unggul Yoga Ananta.
In his presentation, Eric Harianto explained that entrepreneurship is not only about creating new businesses, but also about the ability to read opportunities, drive innovation, and create value. According to him, this approach can support business transformation when integrated with sustainability principles.
Olahkarsa CEO and Co-Founder Unggul Yoga Ananta stated that companies need to link growth targets with the creation of long-term impact. ‘The future of business is determined not only by the ability to generate growth, but also by the ability to create a sustainable impact. Therefore, entrepreneurship and sustainability need to be integrated as part of a mutually reinforcing business strategy,’ he said.
PT Pegadaian’s Director of Network and Operations Eka Pebriansyah explained that sustainability aspects are now one of the considerations in formulating corporate strategy. Organisations that can combine innovation, governance, and sustainability have a stronger foundation for creating long-term value.
Meanwhile, Arya Noble Group’s Head of Sustainability, Security & Safety Oemar Saputra presented the experience of the beauty and wellness sector in developing innovations that also consider environmental and societal impacts.
