Business Owners in Bandung Express Concern as Rupiah Hits Rp 18,000 per US Dollar
A number of business owners in Bandung are complaining about the current condition of the Rupiah, which has breached the Rp 18,000 per US Dollar mark. They assess that there will be a decline in public purchasing power, which will make the economic situation increasingly difficult.
“What is certain is that with the current economic conditions, we can only hope for a better future,” said Septian Nurhadi, a business owner in Bandung city, on Thursday (4/6/2026).
He admitted that he does not deny there will be a decrease in public purchasing power, leading to more difficult economic times. Given the current situation, Septian stated that he must exercise more restraint in his business operations and remain patient.
“One can only exercise more restraint and be patient,” he expressed.
