JAKARTA (JP): Humpuss Group, a widely diversified conglomerate, has organized a business meeting next week to explore ways to enhance cooperation and exploit business opportunities within the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) area.
The Nov. 15 meeting will be attended by business executives who have accompanied their government leaders to the forum's annual meeting.
Pramudya Ardanta, the meeting's chief organizer, said 125 executives have registered to take part in the one-day meeting. It will take place the same day that the APEC leaders gather in Bogor to hammer at the concept of free trade in the region.
Pramudya said some of the participants will sign memorandums of understanding during the business meeting.
Humpuss president Hutomo Mandala Putra will host the meeting.
Hutomo, popularly known as Tommy, is the youngest son of President Soeharto.
The Brunei Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Trade and Commerce is co-hosting the meeting.
