The Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) has stated that business leaders must present a more united front given the increasingly uncertain global economic challenges they face.

Hipmi’s Chairman Akbar Himawan Buchari stressed that the only way forward is to remain solid and cohesive in confronting these difficulties. He also commended the government’s responsive approach and active intervention regarding the global situation. With this positive communication, the business community—particularly Hipmi—will support government efforts.

According to Akbar, Indonesia is not heavily impacted by the conflict in the Gulf region at present. However, as a business practitioner, he hopes the conflict resolves quickly, as business stability is paramount. “We want to expand, we want to invest, we want to carry out business operations. Currently, raw materials dependent on imports have already been affected,” Akbar stated on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

With the dollar surpassing 17,000 rupiah and oil prices reaching 100 US dollars per barrel, the impact will certainly be felt. “For this reason, we must anticipate, we must adapt, and we hope this conflict ends quickly,” Akbar said.

He also disclosed details of his meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. During that meeting, Prabowo instructed the business community to remain solid in facing this global uncertainty.

“We business leaders, the government, and all stakeholders must unite and remain solid in confronting this global situation,” he concluded.

Sunny Boy Hutabarat, chairman of the event committee, said the breaking of the fast gathering themed “Harmony of Young Entrepreneurs: Uniting Vision, Spreading Warmth in the Holy Month” was a networking event for young entrepreneurs. “We gathered with seniors and former chairmen—both those no longer in office and those serving as ministers. We shared economic conditions and continued to work synergistically,” he said.
