Business Associate Claims Five Seized Cars in Oil Case Do Not Belong to Riza Chalid
Business associate of entrepreneur Riza Chalid, Irawan Prakoso, has claimed that five luxury cars belonging to him were seized by the Attorney General’s Office in the corruption case concerning the management of crude oil, which implicates Riza as one of the suspects. Irawan claims the cars have no connection to Riza Chalid. “Yes, that’s correct, those are my assets that were seized. But those cars are the result of my hard work, the sweat of my own brow. They have absolutely no connection to Muhammad Riza Chalid. So, I hope those cars can be returned to me,” Irawan stated at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court, Tuesday (31/3/2026). Irawan hopes the five cars can be returned. However, he did not specify the details of which cars he claims as his own. “They are mine, my personal property. There are five,” he said. Irawan admits he previously had a business relationship with Riza Chalid. However, he denies ever pressuring the defendant in the crude oil management corruption case as a representative of Riza Chalid or his son, Kerry Adrianto Riza. “If I don’t give false testimony, if I give the true testimony, why would I be afraid? Right? It’s as simple as that,” he said. In this case, the Republic of Indonesia Attorney General’s Office has seized nine cars related to Riza Chalid. Here is the list: - One Toyota Alphard - One MINI Cooper - Three Mercedes-Benz (Mercy) - One BMW - One Toyota Rush - One Mitsubishi Pajero Sport - One Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar Riza is a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving oil management and money laundering (TPPU).
