Business and Local Government Collaboration Opens Job Opportunities for Labuan Bajo Residents
Young entrepreneur and actor Deni Zulkarnaen is collaborating with the West Manggarai Regency Manpower Office to organise a job training and local workforce absorption programme in Labuan Bajo. The programme is intended to improve community competence while expanding job opportunities in line with the growth of the tourism and creative economy sectors in the area.
Head of the West Manggarai Manpower Office, Fatinci Reynilda Ivony, welcomed the involvement of the business sector in developing the quality of the local workforce. According to her, partnerships between the government and the private sector play an important role in expanding employment opportunities and improving community welfare.
The programme’s implementation will involve various elements within the Manpower Office. Office Secretary Marselinus Sani Ngarung will coordinate the programme, while the Head of Planning, Training and Job Placement, Maria Agustina Ivony Burhan, is responsible for preparing training materials suited to industry needs and the job placement process.
Deni emphasised that business development should not only be profit-oriented but should also provide direct benefits to the surrounding community. “We believe that the success of a business is not only measured by business growth, but also by the positive impact felt by the community. Therefore, we want the people of Labuan Bajo to be part of this business journey through training, competency improvement, and job opportunities,” Deni said in a statement on Friday (26/6).
The training programme will be tailored to the needs of the industry so that participants can acquire relevant skills ready to be applied in the workplace. Participants who meet the criteria will also receive priority to join the operations of the business being developed. “Through this synergy, it is hoped to build a sustainable employment ecosystem while encouraging regional economic growth based on improving the quality of human resources,” he said.
With the development of Labuan Bajo as one of the nation’s premier tourism destinations, this programme is expected to open more job opportunities for local residents and make a tangible contribution to regional development. Deni Zulkarnaen is known as a young entrepreneur from Bekasi Regency who is active in the entertainment world. Besides his career as an actor, he also develops a number of business units with a focus on community empowerment and job creation.
