Bush was to pursue his diplomatic offensive to rally support
for the war on terrorism on Saturday with a host of bilateral
meetings with Asia-Pacific leaders.
Bush, here to enlist APEC members in the coalition behind
U.S.-led reprisals for September 11 terror strikes, was to meet
with leaders of Malaysia, Russia, Japan, Brunei, Peru, and
Singapore.
Aides were guarded about what the U.S. leader would ask each
nation to contribute to the war to eradicate global terrorism.
