Polresta Serang Kota conducted a comprehensive inspection, or ramp check, on buses at Pakupatan Terminal in Serang City, Banten. This activity aims to enhance transport safety ahead of the Lebaran mudik 2026.

The checks were carried out on Thursday, 5 March 2026, at Pakupatan Terminal. Several buses were assessed for roadworthiness by officers. Vehicle checks covered the completeness of documents, such as SIM and STNK, the condition of the braking system, tires, wipers, and the main lights.

The checks were led by the Head of the Traffic Unit (Kasat Lantas) of Polresta Serang Kota, Kompol Tiwi Afrina, together with the Pakupatan Terminal UPTD, the Department of Transportation (Dinas Perhubungan), the Serang City Health Department (Dinas Kesehatan Kota Serang), and the Banten Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

“Ramp checks are conducted as a preparedness measure ahead of Ketupat Operation 2026 in the jurisdiction of Polresta Serang Kota to ensure public transport vehicles operating are roadworthy and drivers are healthy and free from narcotics misuse,” Tiwi said.

In addition, driver health was checked by the Health Department. Officers checked blood pressure to ensure drivers are in good health while on duty.

Meanwhile, officers from BNN checked drivers’ urine to anticipate narcotics misuse or illegal drugs.

Tiwi said this activity aims to minimise potential traffic accidents due to unroadworthy vehicles or driver error.

“This ramp check is a preventive measure to ensure passenger-carrying vehicles on the mudik and balik flows are truly safe and that drivers are healthy and not influenced by narcotics. This is important to prevent fatalities from traffic accidents,” she added.
