Busan to host 2005 APEC summit

SEOUL: A government panel selected on Tuesday South Korea's second-largest city, Busan, as the venue for next year's Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

The biennial summit of 21 Asia-Pacific countries is scheduled for Nov. 20 and Nov. 21, 2005. Since November, South Korea has been reviewing applications from Seoul, Busan and the southern resort island of Jeju, which wanted to host the event. -- AP
