Jakarta (ANTARA) - Kampung Rambutan Terminal has recorded an increase in bus ticket prices ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026, particularly for non-economy bus services, influenced by a surge in passenger demand.

The head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Revi Zulkarnain, stated that the fare hikes began from H-7 before Eid, ranging between 20 and 50 per cent.

“From H-7 before Eid for holiday transport, there is indeed an increase in bus ticket prices, especially for non-economy class. Currently, the increase is between 20 and 50 per cent from normal days,” Revi told reporters on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, for non-economy buses such as AC, executive, and sleeper classes, price determination is left to market mechanisms and the policies of each bus company. Nevertheless, operators are still required to follow the applicable fare cap regulations.

Revi added that every bus company is also obliged to announce ticket price increases, including the amount of the increase and facilities provided to passengers, through ticket sales counters.

On the other hand, regarding ticket availability, the terminal authorities stated they will prepare additional buses if there is a passenger surge and regular tickets have sold out, including from online bookings.

“Later, the public can buy them directly offline at the ticket sales counters,” Revi said.

“Favourite destinations for returnees remain the same, including Surabaya, Malang, then Purwokerto, Pekalongan, Tegal, Cilacap, Yogyakarta. In West Java, Tasikmalaya, Garut, Cianjur, and in Sumatra, Padang and Palembang,” Revi explained.

As many as 125-150 buses are being dispatched from the terminal located in East Jakarta on H-3 before Eid al-Fitr 2026, today. Kampung Rambutan Terminal is also preparing additional bus units to meet the increased number of returnees.
