Bus Overturns on Jombang–Mojokerto Toll Road, Nine Injured
As reported by detikJatim, AKP Sudirman, Head of East Java’s PJR Unit 3, explained that the Sudiro Tungga Jaya bus was travelling from west to east, or from Magetan toward Surabaya. Upon reaching KM 686+700A on the Jomo Toll around 05:20 WIB, the bus, carrying 15 passengers, suddenly veered to the right. Immediately the bus, with registration AE 7264 UP, slid into a ditch in the median of the Jomo Toll. The Sudiro Tungga Jaya bus overturned after hitting concrete in the median.
“It is suspected the bus driver fell asleep, causing the vehicle to veer to the right,” he told detikJatim, on Thursday, 21 May 2026.
The final position of the bus was overturned on the opposite carriageway and pressed against the toll road’s wire-rope barriers. The accident left nine people injured. All victims were evacuated to RSUD Jombang. “Five people sustained serious injuries, four minor injuries,” Sudirman said.
