Bus on fire on Jagorawi toll road

BOGOR (JP): A Tunggal Daya bus plying the Jakarta-Sukabumi route caught fire following an engine explosion on the Jagorawi toll road in Ciawi, here on Tuesday.

All of the 70 passengers managed to escape from the burning bus. No injuries or fatalities were reported in the fire.

The incident occurred at about 10 a.m. when sparks began appearing in the engine located at the front of the bus.

Bus driver Amin, 42, quickly pulled over onto the hardshoulder, and the passengers began jumping out in panic.

Officials at the Jasa Marga toll later put out the fire with the help of the passengers. (21/edt)
