Bus for women

Bus for women

From Neraca

Traveling in the city by public bus -- either Metromini,
Kopaja, limited passenger bus, or air-conditioned bus -- is not
very comfortable because, more often than not, the buses are
exceptionally crowded. Worse still, as there as male and female
passengers on the same bus female passengers must tolerate slight
harassment by some male passengers who do it just for fun.

I often see female passengers having to move to get away from
being tightly sandwiched between males. To improve the condition,
I would like to suggest to the Jakarta Metropolitan
Administration to consider operating special buses for women.
Perhaps, the bus crews could also be women, as in Bangladesh. I
believe women passengers would find it more convenient and secure
to be among just women in a bus.
