Bus drivers complain of levies

PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: More than 300 drivers at the Ulu 7 bus terminal yesterday complained of various levies they allegedly have to pay to the local City Land Transportation Agency.

"We make about Rp 60,000 (US$26) a day for two-trips while the levies at the terminal have reached up to Rp 15,000," claimed one driver. The levies had allegedly been collected for the last two months, Antara reported.

The head of the Palembang transportation agency, Marwan Harman, expressed his concern over the situation and promised to thoroughly investigate the charges. (mds)
