Bus Conductor in Semarang Arrested After Hiding Crystal Meth in Candy Bottle
The Central Java Regional Police Narcotics Investigation Unit has arrested an intercity bus conductor suspected of distributing crystal methamphetamine. The suspect, identified by the initials DM (38), was detained as his bus passed through the Banyumanik Toll Gate in Semarang.
The Director of Narcotics Investigation of the Central Java Regional Police, Kombes Yos Guntur, stated that the suspect, a resident of Pringapus District, Semarang Regency, was arrested on Thursday (30/7) at approximately 10:30 PM WIB. The case came to light following information received from the public.
“The team then coordinated with PJR personnel from the Central Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate who were on standby at Banyumanik,” Yos said in a written statement. “As well as with Jasa Marga officers to monitor the suspicious bus passing through the Banyumanik Toll Gate.”
He noted that DM works as a conductor on the Magetan-Cileungsi intercity bus route. Upon stopping the bus, police discovered that DM had hidden crystal methamphetamine inside a candy bottle. “From the search results, officers found one package of crystal methamphetamine weighing approximately 3.77 grams, which was hidden inside a Doublemint candy bottle within his black backpack,” he explained.
