Bus Collides with Truck on Cipali Toll Road, One Passenger Dies

Cirebon, West Java – The Cirebon City Police Resort (Polresta Cirebon) said a traffic accident involving a bus and a truck on the Cipali Toll Road at KM 182.100 in the A lane of Cirebon Regency resulted in one passenger’s death. The head of the Cirebon Polresta Traffic Unit (Satlantas), AKP Yudha Setyo Rahardjo, said the accident occurred on Saturday at about 01:40 local time in the tol area within Desa Ciwaringin, Cirebon Regency. ‘The bus hit the rear of a truck travelling in the same direction in front of it,’ Yudha said in Cirebon on Saturday. According to him, the bus with plate H 7370 OA, driven by a man identified as T (53), was travelling in lane A on the Cipali Toll before eventually hitting the rear of a truck with license plate B 9450 UIS. As a result, one bus passenger identified as MF (27), a resident of Sidoarjo, East Java, died and was evacuated to Arjawinangun Regional General Hospital (RSUD Arjawinangun). ‘In addition to the deceased, two other bus passengers sustained injuries and received medical treatment at RS Sentra Medika,’ he said. Yudha said police officers had conducted on-site crime scene processing (TKP) and evacuated the vehicles involved. He said the two vehicles damaged by the accident were secured at the Cipali PJR Office for further investigation. ‘The accident case is still under investigation by officers. For evidence (of the accident) it has been secured at the Cipali PJR Office,’ he said.
