Buried for 40 Years, Corpse in West Bandung Remains Intact and Is Transported by Motorcycle for Relocation
A photograph showing two men transporting a corpse using a motorcycle has gone viral on social media. The image caused a stir and sparked various speculations from the public. The incident of the corpse being transported by motorcycle occurred on Jalan Cikakak, Batulayang Village, Cililin District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, on Sunday. The actual facts were revealed by Cililin Sub-district Head, Opa Mustopa. Opa explained that the circulating photo did not depict the transport of a recently deceased person to be buried, but rather the relocation of a grave of a resident who had passed away in 1985 from the Cililin Village cemetery to the cemetery in Batulayang Village. βThe people in the photo are Batulayang residents who were moving the corpse from Pasir Meong, Cililin. The distance is indeed close,β said Opa when confirmed on Monday. According to Opa, the local government had offered ambulance assistance for the corpse relocation process, which had been agreed upon by the family. However, the family remained firm in their decision to use a motorcycle because the location was quite close.
