Burglary of Luxury Home in Bogor Leads to Arrest of Three Chinese Nationals at Ngurah Rai Airport
Three Chinese nationals were secured by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Saturday (2/5/2026). The trio are suspected of involvement in the criminal offence of aggravated theft in a luxury housing area in Bogor.
The three foreign male nationals are initialled JW (33), RW (37), and HL (39). They are known to have entered Indonesia using a Visit Stay Permit Visa on Arrival.
The Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, emphasised that his office is capable of securing anyone on the wanted persons list (DPO), provided the information is conveyed quickly and accurately.
“The apprehension of these three Chinese nationals is proof that entry points to Indonesian territory, particularly I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, cannot be used as a loophole to escape the clutches of the law. We contribute to safeguarding the sovereignty and security of the state, and will continue to synergise with all law enforcement apparatus to ensure that every lawbreaker is held accountable for their actions,” Bugie explained in a written statement received by detikBali.
The burglary they carried out occurred on Sunday, 22 March 2026, around 20:45 WIB. The perpetrators wore masks depicting a footballer’s face and black gloves to enter the victim’s home, Susanto. At the time, the victim and his family had been on holiday in China since 18 March 2026.
After committing the act, the three are believed to have attempted to flee abroad via Bali. They planned to depart for Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (2/5/2026) using Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ550.
However, during the departure inspection process, immigration officers detected irregularities and conducted further checks on their identities. The result was that they were strongly suspected as the perpetrators of the theft based on a police report from Bogor City Police Resort.
At 07:00 WITA, their departure was delayed. The three foreign nationals, along with their passports, were handed over to Bogor City Police Resort for further examination at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police Resort. For their actions, the three are charged under Article 477 of the Criminal Code regarding Aggravated Theft.
