Bupati Gatut Sunu's Younger Brother Also Detained in KPK's Raid in Tulungagung

Spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Budi Prasetyo, confirmed to reporters on Saturday (11/4/2026) that one of the parties taken to Jakarta was the younger brother of Regent Gatut. Budi stated that the younger brother of Regent Gatut Sunu was at the same location when the KPK conducted the sting operation. Therefore, the younger brother of Regent Gatut was also brought to Jakarta by the investigators. In addition, Budi said that the investigators seized a number of cash amounts from the sting operation. However, the KPK has not yet detailed the total amount of money secured. “In this activity, the team also secured evidence items, including in the form of cash,” Budi explained. Currently, all parties who have been secured are being examined by the investigators. The KPK has a time limit of 1x24 hours to determine their legal status. It is known that the sting operation was carried out on Friday (10/4) night. In the sting operation, the KPK netted the Regent of Tulungagung, Gatut Sunu Wibowo. “Correct, tonight the KPK is conducting a closed investigation activity in the East Java region. Where the team secured a number of 16 people, one of whom is the Regent of Tulungagung,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters on Friday (10/4).
