Buol Regency distributes presidential sacrificial cow to Lakea I village
BUOL, INDONESIA - The Buol Regency in Central Sulawesi has handed over a sacrificial cow donated by President Prabowo Subianto to the community via the An-Nur Village Mosque’s DKM (Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid) in Lakea District. Vice Regent Moh. Nasir Dj Daimaroto stated that the presidential sacrificial cow donation aims to strengthen social solidarity, emulate Islamic teachings on sacrifice, and assist needy communities through meat distribution. ‘The sacrificial cow donation is funded by the Presidential Secretariat’s budget with an allocation of Rp140 million for Buol Regency and weighs 915kg,’ Nasir said in Lakea on Tuesday. He noted that the An-Nur Village Mosque’s DKM has been designated as the recipient of the sacrificial cow donation. He added that the presidential donation is a locally bred animal, produced through artificial insemination, weighing 915kg and among the largest in Buol Regency. ‘This achievement is the result of collaboration between farmers, livestock technical staff, and local government support in developing livestock quality improvement programmes in Buol Regency,’ he said. He stated that the sacrificial cow will be slaughtered on 28 May 2026 at the An-Nur Village Mosque grounds in Lakea. Nasir also reminded residents of the importance of livestock management to ensure public safety and order, particularly along the Trans-Sulawesi Highway. ‘Residents are urged not to let livestock roam freely, as this could cause traffic accidents or harm to others,’ he added. He called on all local farmers to maintain livestock health and quality through proper husbandry practices to boost the economic value and productivity of Buol’s livestock sector.
