'Bung' Tomo a national hero

While watching an TVRI/SCTV news broadcast the other day, I was surprised to learn that Bung Tomo was awarded the honor of national hero. But later, while watching a documentary about the 1945 Youth Congress in Yogyakarta, I was disappointed when the broadcaster said: "While the congress was in progress, the East Java delegate had to return to Surabaya..."

I think TVRI underestimated the national hero, as the delegate having to return to Surabaya was Bung Tomo himself. I saw the event (in Yogyakarta square) with my own eyes, because I had gone to Yogyakarta from Bandung to meet with Bung Tomo. TVRI did not want to mention the name of the hero by name. What a shame!
