The DPP of PDIP introduced the song ‘Bung Karno, Father of Marhaenism’ at the Training Session for PDIP DPRD members nationwide for the 2024-2029 term. The song was played at the start of the party protocol session.

The event took place at Novotel Mangga Dua in North Jakarta on Saturday, 29 May 2026. The lyrics are:

Marhaen People, United and Marching Forward

Building a New World

Unite Your Steps

Follow the Single Command

Long Live Our Bung Karno

Father of Marhaenism, Victorious

Long Live Our Leaders

Marhaenism Will Surely Triumph

DPP PDIP Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat stated that playing the song again is not merely ceremonial. He said the song is intended to reignite the spirit of struggle and the ideology of Marhaenism within every cadre.

“This song serves as a reminder for all of us, especially newly inaugurated people’s representatives, that the essence of PDI Perjuangan’s struggle is to stand with and fight for the interests of the small people or the Marhaen class,” said Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

“During this Bung Karno Month, we must reinforce our commitment to remain steadfast in following the party’s command and to ground Bung Karno’s teachings in every policy we adopt,” he added.

Djarot stated that the ‘Bung Karno, Father of Marhaenism’ song must be sung by cadres during every party protocol event. He praised the cadres for singing it in unison.

“The ‘Bung Karno, Father of Marhaenism’ song must be sung at all party protocol events,” he said.

The opening ceremony of the nationwide PDIP DPRD Training Session was led by Djarot. Attendees included several DPP PDIP officials, including Andreas Hugo Pareira, Ribka Tjiptaning, Wiryanto Sukamdani, Darmadi Durianto, Yoseph Aryo Adhi Dharmo, Yuke Yurike, and Sri Rahayu.

The training event will be divided into six regions: Jakarta, Denpasar, Medan, Palembang, Makassar, and Papua. This regional division is to accommodate approximately 4,000 PDIP DPRD members.
