Bundaran HI to Kota Gets Faster, MRT Phase 2A Project Progress Exceeds Halfway Mark
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The construction of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A, which connects Bundaran HI to Kota, continues to show progress. Currently, the progress has reached 59.7 per cent.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung inspected the project along with Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi on Tuesday (12/5/2024).
They reviewed several work points on the ground.
For the route to Kota Tua, the completion target is the end of 2029. Once completed, the total North-South MRT line spanning 22.2 kilometres will be fully operational.
“If this is finished, the main North-South route spanning 22.2 kilometres will be completely done in 2029,” he said.
During the inspection, Pramono also highlighted the work in the Sawah Besar and Mangga Besar areas. These two points are the deepest station locations, about 28 metres underground.
Because they are quite deep, the work is more difficult compared to other points.
“Because the ones in Sawah Besar and Mangga Besar are the deepest stations, approximately 28 metres down, of course the construction work compared to other areas is more extensive,” he stated.
He assessed that the children of the nation are capable of handling major projects if given the opportunity.
“What is encouraging is that the 3,800 people working there are all Indonesian. This proves that our best sons and daughters, if given the opportunity, can deliver extraordinary results,” he said.
It does not stop there; Pramono also mentioned that the Vice President is quite satisfied with the progress of the MRT Phase 2A construction.
According to him, the tunnel work is proceeding neatly and as expected.
“Overall, he expressed joy and satisfaction because he had seen it before. The progress is quite good, and especially the tunnel is quite neat, all once again done by Indonesian sons and daughters,” said Pramono.
