Bunda Mulia University (UBM) has reaffirmed its commitment to technology-based educational innovation with the launch of BM AI Tutor, Indonesia’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) smart academic assistant platform integrated with an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum. UBM Rector Doddy Surja Bajuadji stated that the launch of BM AI Tutor is a strategic step for the university in addressing the challenges of higher education transformation in the digital era. He explained that the platform is designed as a private digital tutor that students can access anytime and anywhere to support a more effective, personal, and measurable learning process. “BM AI Tutor is expected to become an important milestone in the transformation of Indonesian higher education and strengthen Bunda Mulia University’s commitment to delivering excellent, relevant, and globally competitive education,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (11/6/2026). He stated that what differentiates BM AI Tutor from various other AI platforms is its direct integration with the OBE curriculum implemented at Bunda Mulia University. Through this integration, every learning activity, exercise, discussion, and evaluation conducted via the platform is structured to support the achievement of the Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK) stipulated in the curriculum. He noted that with this approach, BM AI Tutor not only helps students obtain answers to academic questions but also guides the learning process to remain aligned with the competencies that must be achieved in each course. Furthermore, the platform also provides support to lecturers through more accurate data and information to continuously map the level of student CPMK attainment, enabling the learning process to be more structured, objective, and data-driven. Doddy added that BM AI Tutor also implements a Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach that encourages students to learn actively and independently. Through the various interactive features available, students are encouraged to increase participation in the learning process, strengthen learning motivation, and build an academic culture that is both competitive and collaborative. He stated that the BM AI Tutor platform itself is the result of collaborative development between Bunda Mulia University students and lecturers together with digitalplace.ai, an AI and Robotics company based in Singapore.
