Bunda Mulia University Introduces Indonesia's First AI Tutor Platform
Universitas Bunda Mulia (UBM) has demonstrated its commitment to delivering technology-based educational innovation through the launch of BM AI Tutor, the first intelligent academic assistant platform in Indonesia based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and integrated with the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum.
The Rector of Universitas Bunda Mulia, Doddy Surja Bajuadji, stated that the launch of BM AI Tutor is a strategic step for UBM in addressing the challenges of higher education transformation in the digital era. He explained that the platform is designed as a digital private tutor that students can access anytime and anywhere to support a more effective, personalised, and measurable learning process.
“BM AI Tutor is expected to be an important milestone in the transformation of Indonesian higher education and strengthen Universitas Bunda Malaysia’s commitment to providing excellent, relevant, and globally competitive education,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday (11/06/2026).
He noted that what distinguishes BM AI Tutor from various other AI platforms is its direct integration with the OBE curriculum implemented at Universitas Bunda Mulia. Through this integration, every learning activity, exercise, discussion, and evaluation conducted via the platform is structured to support the achievement of Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK) established within the curriculum.
He mentioned that with this approach, BM AI Tutor does not merely help students obtain answers to academic questions, but also guides the learning process to remain aligned with the competencies required for each course. Furthermore, the platform provides support to lecturers by offering more accurate data and information to map the continuous achievement levels of student CPMK, ensuring that the learning process is more structured, objective, and data-driven.
Furthermore, Doddy stated that BM AI Tutor also implements a Student-Centered Learning (SCL) approach, which encourages students to learn actively and independently. Through various available interactive features, students are encouraged to increase participation in the learning process, strengthen learning motivation, and build an academic culture that is both competitive and collaborative.
The BM AI Tutor platform itself is the result of a collaborative development between students and lecturers of Universitas Bunda Mulia alongside digitalplace.ai, an AI and Robotics company based in Singapore.
