BUMN Performance Grows Positively, Danantara Strengthens Transformation Under Prabowo Administration
Positive performance by a number of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) in the first half of this year has become one of the most highlighted achievements of President Prabowo Subianto’s administration. The consolidation and transformation programme for BUMN, implemented by Danantara since its inception, has begun to show concrete results. This is reflected in the surge in net profits across almost all strategic BUMN sectors.
PT Timah led the list with the sharpest profit growth. The mining company recorded a profit of Rp2.71 trillion, a jump of 804.7% compared to the first half of 2025, which was Rp300 billion. In second place, PT Pupuk Indonesia posted a profit of Rp8.51 trillion, up 253% from the previous Rp2.41 trillion. The basic industry and plantation sectors also showed impressive performance.
State-owned financial institutions remain the main pillars of national profitability. Bank Mandiri recorded the largest nominal net profit, reaching Rp30.41 trillion, an increase of 24.3%. Meanwhile, PT Pegadaian demonstrated high efficiency with a profit increase of 84.6% to Rp6.59 trillion. Positive news also came from entities that previously suffered losses. PT Krakatau Steel successfully achieved a turnaround, posting a profit in the range of Rp150–185 billion, after recording a loss of Rp1.74 trillion in the same period last year. A similar step was followed by PT Kimia Farma, which now recorded a profit of Rp54.07 billion, reversing from a loss position of Rp135.61 billion in the first half of 2025.
