Bumi Resources (BUMI) Records 36.6% Increase in Net Profit for Q1-2026
JAKARTA - PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) recorded a net profit of US$41.09 million, equivalent to Rp711 billion, in the first quarter of 2026. This figure represents a 36.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025, which stood at US$30.07 million.
According to the financial report as of 31 March 2026, the profit growth aligned with a 19.7% rise in revenue to US$417.8 million, up from US$348.78 million in the first quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, the cost of goods sold increased to US$334.8 million from US$297.53 million. Nevertheless, gross profit still grew significantly to US$82.8 million, compared to US$51.2 million in the same period last year.
BUMI also booked operating profit of US$49.1 million, up from US$27.9 million in the first quarter of 2025. This improvement occurred despite operating expenses rising to US$33.8 million from the previous US$23.3 million.
On the taxation side, the company recorded income tax expense of US$11.60 million, reversing from a tax benefit of US$2.18 million in the prior period. After accounting for profit sharing of US$2.59 million, the profit for the year was recorded at US$41.09 million.
The profit for the year attributable to the owners of the parent entity rose to US$24.14 million in the first quarter of 2026, from US$17.86 million in the same period last year.
This strengthening came after the shares had hit a low around Rp220, before reversing direction and experiencing a sharp acceleration in gains.
Intraday, BUMI’s movement showed a consolidation phase in the Rp225-Rp230 area, before breaking through resistance at Rp230 and continuing to strengthen to a high of Rp244. However, towards the close, the price stabilised around Rp240.
