BUMI Profits Soar 188 Percent, Bakrie-Salim Issuer Rakes in US$58.85 Million in First Half of 2026
The financial performance of PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI) showed significant improvement in the first half of 2026. The coal and mineral mining company, which sits under the Bakrie Group and Salim Group, managed to book a surge in net profit attributable to owners of the parent entity of up to 188.4 per cent compared with the same period a year earlier.
Based on the company’s financial report, net profit attributable to owners of the parent entity reached US$58.85 million in H1 2026. This figure rose sharply compared with H1 2025, which was recorded at US$20.41 million.
Not only that, the company’s consolidated net profit also saw a significant increase. As of the end of June 2026, BUMI booked a consolidated net profit of US$72.27 million, up 87.4 per cent from the same period last year, which stood at US$38.55 million.
Revenue Grows Nearly 28 Per Cent
The rise in BUMI’s profit was driven by fairly strong revenue growth throughout the first six months of this year.
The company booked revenue of US$866.75 million, up 27.9 per cent from H1 2025 revenue of US$677.93 million.
The largest contributor to revenue still came from the coal business. Sales of the commodity generated revenue of US$762.39 million.
Meanwhile, gold sales became the second largest contributor, with a value of US$95.91 million.
On the other hand, increased business activity also pushed up the cost of revenue. During H1 2026, cost of revenue was recorded at US$720.84 million, higher than the US$570.90 million in the same period last year.
Operating Profit and Contribution from Associates Also Rise
Revenue growth had a positive impact on the company’s operating profit.
BUMI booked an operating profit of US$83.13 million, up from US$55.30 million in H1 2025.
In addition, profit contributions from associates and joint ventures also increased significantly. The value nearly tripled to US$43.85 million, strengthening the company’s profit performance throughout the first half of this year.
Receivables from PT Jhonlin Group Surge
In addition to recording profit growth, BUMI’s financial report also showed significant changes on the trade receivables side.
As of the end of June 2026, trade receivables from PT Jhonlin Group increased drastically to US$153.52 million. This figure jumped approximately 10.9 times compared with its position at the end of 2025, which stood at US$14.06 million.
