BUMDes Director in Lombok Found Dead Hanging from Ceiling
A man with the initials HK (36) was found dead in a hanging position from the ceiling of his home in Mekar Sari Hamlet, Teniga Village, Tanjung Subdistrict, North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). HK was known to hold the position of Director of the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in the area.
The Tanjung Police Chief, AKP Surya Irawan, revealed that HK is suspected of ending his life due to economic problems. Additionally, HK was also believed to be stressed by his health condition.
“Based on the information obtained, the victim is suspected of experiencing pressure due to economic problems and the health condition he was facing,” said Surya on Friday (10/4/2026).
According to Surya, HK’s body was first discovered by his wife. The body was found hanging using a raffia rope tied to the wooden ceiling of their home.
After finding HK lifeless, his wife then asked nearby residents for help to lower the body by cutting the rope. Based on initial examination results, no signs of violence were found on the BUMDes director’s body.
“From the results of the checks at the scene and witness statements, the victim is suspected of having died from hanging. The family has also accepted the incident as a calamity and refused an autopsy,” added Surya.
