Bulog's Response to Allegations That Its CEO Serves as Head of TNI's Strategic Intelligence Agency

State-owned enterprise Bulog has denied information circulating that claims its CEO, Ahmad Rizal Ramdani, serves as Head of the Strategic Intelligence Agency or Head of BAIS TNI. “We need to emphasise that the narrative claiming Bulog’s CEO, TNI (Ret.) Lieutenant General Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, holds the position of Head of BAIS TNI is untrue,” stated Head of Public Relations for Perum Bulog, Tomi Wijaya, in a written statement on Friday, 27 March 2026. According to Tomi, this narrative constitutes disinformation that could mislead the public. He explained that Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani resigned from active TNI service when appointed as CEO of Perum Bulog, and thus currently holds the status of a TNI retiree. Tomi affirmed that Perum Bulog is committed to fulfilling the state’s mandate in food security in a professional, transparent, and accountable manner. Perum Bulog urged mass media and the public to prioritise principles of verification and balance in reporting, and to avoid spreading unconfirmed information. The narrative regarding Ahmad Rizal emerged following Lieutenant General Yudi Abrimantyo’s resignation as Head of BAIS TNI. Yudi’s resignation came after four of his subordinates were suspected of attacking Kontras activist Andrie Yunus with sulphuric acid.
