Bulog targets completion of food aid distribution in North Sumatra by end of June 2026
State logistics company Perum Bulog’s Finance Director Hendra Susanto has targeted the completion of food aid distribution—comprising 20 kilogrammes of rice and four litres of Minyakita branded cooking oil—to residents of North Sumatra by the end of June 2026.
"I am directly monitoring Bulog North Sumatra’s readiness regarding the food aid, with a completion target by the end of this June," Hendra stated in Medan on Thursday.
He noted that the food aid is already prepared in respective warehouses and merely awaits immediate distribution to the public according to schedules coordinated with the local government.
He further explained that the Government programme aims to partially fulfil the community’s staple food needs.
Perum Bulog Regional Leader for North Sumatra, Budi Cahyanto, added that food aid has been distributed to 757,987 beneficiaries, equivalent to 43.14 per cent of a total 1,756,846 recipients.
"From that distribution, the amount of rice already delivered is 15,159 tonnes, and 3,031,948 litres of Minyakita cooking oil," Budi detailed.
Budi expressed hope that the food aid would help meet community needs whilst supporting efforts by the Regional Inflation Control Team at the provincial and district/city levels to manage food inflation.
The number of food aid recipients in 2026 has increased compared to the October–November 2025 period, when 844,696 beneficiaries were recorded.
