The Indonesian Logistics Agency (Bulog) Surakarta branch, together with the Trade Office, the Food Office, and the Food Task Force of the Surakarta City Police, conducted a surprise inspection at Legi Market, Solo, Central Java, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The activity was carried out to ensure the availability and price stability of essential food supplies during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

“We carried out the inspection to monitor price increases in the market,” said the Head of the Surakarta Bulog Branch, Nanang Harianto, via telephone on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

From the monitoring, Nanang said that the supply of rice and cooking oil in the Solo Raya area was confirmed to be safe in order to face Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr this year. His party also distributed a stock of 9,000 litres of cooking oil to be distributed to traders at Legi Market.

“We do this regularly. To the stall traders so that the sale of cooking oil does not exceed the Highest Retail Price (HET),” he said.

From the monitoring of prices of various types of essential food at Legi Market during the inspection on Tuesday, Nanang said that the prices of several commodities tended to be stable. He cited garlic and chicken meat as examples. Red chili, which had previously experienced a price increase, is now starting to fall and stabilize.

“Red onions and garlic are monitored to be stable. For red chili, the price has dropped to IDR 80,000 per kilogram. For chicken meat, the price is stable at IDR 38,000 per kilogram, still below the Government Reference Price,” he said.

Nanang confirmed that the rice supply in the Surakarta Bulog Warehouse is currently still around 57,000 tons. He said that the amount is still safe until the next harvest. As for the stock of cooking oil, there are still around 605,000 litres spread throughout all Bulog Surakarta warehouses in various areas of Solo Raya.

As part of maintaining the stability of supply and prices, Nanang said that Bulog is distributing SPHP rice and MinyaKita to several traditional markets in Solo Raya.

The commodities must be sold in accordance with the HET, namely IDR 12,500 per kilogram for SPHP rice and IDR 15,700 per litre for MinyaKita.
