Bulog Sultra supplies 4,200 litres of Minyakita to prevent shortages

4,200 litres of Minyakita have been distributed specifically to Anduonohu Market today as a market intervention ahead of Eid al-Adha. Perum Bulog’s Southeast Sulawesi Regional Office has supplied an additional 4,200 litres of subsidized Minyakita cooking oil to Anduonohu Market in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, to prevent shortages and price spikes ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447/2026. Yusran, Bulog Sultra’s Procurement and Operations Manager, stated that the cooking oil was distributed directly to traditional traders who are Bulog partners at the government-mandated maximum retail price (HET) of Rp15,700 per litre. ‘The 4,200 litres were distributed specifically to Anduonohu Market today as part of market intervention ahead of Eid al-Adha,’ Yusran said. Yusran explained that Bulog’s Minyakita supply has remained relatively stable, with regular distribution averaging 200,000 litres to partner traders across Southeast Sulawesi. However, he clarified that Bulog does not handle all Minyakita distribution in Sulawesi Tenggara. The state-owned enterprise is responsible for only 30 to 45 per cent of the total subsidized cooking oil supply in the region. The remaining quota is distributed by the state-owned food holding company ID Food and several private distributors. ‘Regarding overall availability, Minyakita distribution is not solely through Bulog. We cover 30 to 45 per cent, with the rest handled by ID Food and other companies. Whenever we receive stock, it is immediately distributed to traditional markets in Kendari, such as Anduonohu and Mandonga,’ he said. Previously, traders in Kendari’s traditional markets had complained of insufficient subsidized cooking oil supplies in recent months, leading to retail prices exceeding the government-set ceiling. Ani, a trader at Anduonohu Market, said that due to limited distributor supplies, Minyakita’s retail price had reached between Rp22,000 and Rp27,000 per litre. ‘We have struggled to obtain stock for the past four months. Sales revenue has dropped because cooking oil is one of the most sought-after daily essentials,’ Ani said. Traders hope that regular stock releases by Bulog and relevant authorities will restore supply stability and normalise Minyakita prices at market level in line with the HET.
