JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Perum Bulog has acknowledged that stocks of MinyaKita across all regions are currently very limited.

Bulog’s Director of Operational Planning and Market Price Analysis, Muhammad Wawan Hidayanto, stated that this situation has arisen because producers have not yet resumed stocking MinyaKita.

This has become one of the obstacles for Bulog in carrying out its government-assigned task of distributing MinyaKita.

“The commercial MinyaKita stocks in several regions are indeed very limited; there has been no additional supply from producers yet,” Wawan said during the Inflation Coordination Meeting broadcast on the Ministry of Home Affairs’ YouTube channel on Monday (27/4/2026).

Another hindrance is the high distribution costs due to the need to transport supplies to islands and mountainous areas. Costs become expensive because MinyaKita must be shipped to Jayapura before distribution to mountainous regions.

“Some regions are also not yet covered because, as mentioned earlier regarding rice, Bulog warehouses are not located in every area, which is quite hindering,” Wawan explained.

These issues are commonly faced in the Maluku and Papua regions, which are geographically characterised by islands and mountains.

To address these problems, Bulog is attempting to coordinate with the Ministry of Trade and the National Food Agency. “Regarding its distribution, so that it can reach all regions,” Wawan stated.

In his presentation, Wawan also touched on the limited shipping subsidies from producers, amounting to around Rp 900 per litre. However, the actual shipping cost exceeds Rp 2,000 per litre.

Additionally, the limited capital of partners in the Essential Goods Market Monitoring and Needs System (SP2KP), which are the targets of Bulog’s distribution, is also impeding progress. “Some regions are not yet covered because the distribution costs from the warehouse are too expensive,” read Wawan’s presentation.

On that occasion, Wawan reported that Bulog has already distributed 92,265 kilolitres of MinyaKita.

Of that amount, 45% or 41,000 kilolitres were sent to SP2KP markets and public markets. “For MinyaKita itself, we have distributed a total of 92,000 kilolitres,” Wawan said.
