Jakarta — The Director of Perum Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, has assured that the national rice stock remains sufficient for public needs until the end of 2026.

This assurance was conveyed by Ahmad during the Cheap Food Movement (Gerakan Pangan Murah) activities at the Bulog Regional Office for Jakarta and Banten in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, on Friday (13 March 2026).

“We hereby report to the public that our rice stock is secure and controlled. Year-end stock can reach above 5 million tonnes,” Ahmad told journalists on Friday (13 March 2026).

He further noted that rice stock will increase again by the end of the month to 4.3 million tonnes.

“This is the highest condition in March throughout independent Indonesia,” he said.

Beyond rice, Bulog is also ensuring the security of cooking oil and sugar stocks.

According to Ahmad, Bulog has received 43,000 kilolitres of cooking oil from Minyakita for distribution throughout Indonesia.

Similarly, 9 million tonnes of sugar has been prepared to welcome Eid 2026.

“And we respectfully urge that there be no panic buying in this regard,” he said.

The Cheap Food Movement is being conducted simultaneously across 36 police regional commands and 500 police stations, with the Metro Jaya Police Regional Command serving as the centre.

A total of 1,337 tonnes of rice has been distributed to hundreds of thousands of beneficiaries, with 3,000 of these recipients in the jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Police Regional Command.
