Jakarta (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog fully respects and supports the legal process currently being conducted by the Papua High Prosecutor’s Office regarding the handling of alleged corruption in the distribution of Government Rice Reserves (CBP) in the Wamena region during the 2020–2023 period. Ahmad Mustari, Regional Leader of Perum Bulog’s Papua Regional Office, stated that his party is committed to providing the necessary support in the investigation process to ensure law enforcement proceeds objectively and professionally. “Perum Bulog respects all ongoing legal processes and entrusts the handling of this case entirely to law enforcement officials,” Mustari said, according to an official statement from Perum Bulog headquarters received in Jakarta on Saturday. As a company that upholds the principles of Good Corporate Governance, transparency, and accountability, Bulog respects the authority of law enforcement officials to thoroughly investigate this case in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. “We support law enforcement efforts as part of a shared commitment to realising good, transparent, and accountable governance,” he stated. Bulog also emphasised that the case being handled involves alleged actions by individuals that occurred six years ago and does not reflect the commitment or integrity of all employees of the state-owned food enterprise in carrying out public service duties and government assignments in the food sector. In line with efforts to strengthen governance, Bulog continues to undertake various measures to improve internal supervision systems, enhance compliance with operational procedures, and strengthen risk management across all organisational lines to prevent similar incidents in the future. Currently, Bulog’s operations in the Papua and Papua Pegunungan regions continue to run normally. The distribution of Government Rice Reserves, the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation Programme (SPHP), and various other government assignments are still being carried out optimally to maintain food security and price stability for the community. “We ensure that all of Bulog’s public services and assignments continue to run well. Our main focus is maintaining food availability and providing the best service to the community in accordance with the government’s mandate,” he added. Perum Bulog invites all parties to respect the ongoing legal process and uphold the principle of presumption of innocence until a final and binding court decision is reached.
