Bulog Ready to Distribute Rice Aid to 33.2 Million Beneficiaries Starting 17 August

State logistics firm Perum Bulog has confirmed its readiness to distribute rice food aid to 33.2 million beneficiary families (KPM) starting 17 August, supported by sufficient Government Rice Reserves (CBP) across Indonesia. Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani stated that distribution preparations are being finalised, and rice shipments could even be dispatched before 17 August to ensure timely delivery to recipients. “Yes, we are ready as soon as possible. If necessary, we will send it before the 17th,” Rizal said when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to Rizal, the rice aid distribution will be carried out simultaneously in various regions as part of Bulog’s commitment to supporting the smooth implementation of government programmes for the community. Bulog is committed to optimising its distribution network and coordinating with all stakeholders so that the second phase of rice aid is distributed on target, on time, and maintains public food security. The National Food Agency (Bapanas) has tasked Perum Bulog with distributing 997.2 thousand tonnes of rice aid to 33.24 million beneficiary families starting 17 August 2026 to safeguard purchasing power and national food stability. Head of Bapanas and concurrently Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman stated that the distribution of rice aid serves as a social safety net to maintain public purchasing power, strengthen national food stability, and help meet families’ food needs.
