Bulog Proposes Rice Allowance for TNI, Polri, and ASN: Ample Stock
JAKARTA - Bulog’s President Director, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, has proposed that the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), National Police (Polri), and civil servants (ASN) should once again receive rice allowances in kind (natura).
Rizal made the proposal due to the current abundance of Government Rice Reserves (CBP) in Bulog’s warehouses.
“While Bulog’s rice is plentiful, we suggest that in the future, TNI, Polri, and ASN should also receive Bulog rice like the natura from the old days when we were still young,” said Rizal when met at the Bulog Kelapa Gading Warehouse, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/5/2026).
However, he has not yet provided further details on whether the proposal has been submitted to the government.
“It’s medium rice, medium rice,” Rizal stated.
In addition to their base salary, civil servants are indeed entitled to allowances.
Apart from civil servants, the state also provides food allowances to TNI and Polri members along with their families.
The amount of the allowance is regulated under Ministry of Finance Director General of Treasury Regulation Number 67 of 2020 concerning Rice Allowances in the Form of Natura and Cash.
The regulation states that active civil servants, TNI, and Polri personnel are entitled to 10 kilograms of rice or cash equivalent to 10 kilograms of rice at a price of Rp 8,074 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, Bulog’s warehouse capacity is only 3.7 million tonnes.
To meet the storage needs, Bulog rents warehouses from private parties.
On the other hand, Bulog is also building 100 warehouses in various remote areas and increasing the capacity of existing warehouses.
