Bulog OKU Distributes 2,290 Tonnes of Food Aid Rice in Two Districts
Baturaja (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU), South Sumatra, is distributing 2,290 tonnes of food aid rice to 114,519 beneficiaries in two districts, namely East OKU and South OKU. “Today, we have started distributing food aid to these two districts in South Sumatra,” said the Head of Perum Bulog OKU, Junirman, in Baturaja on Monday. He explained that the food aid is provided by the government as an effort to suppress surges in rice prices in the market while also addressing extreme poverty. The 2,290 tonnes of rice are being distributed to 114,519 Food Aid Recipients (PBP) registered in the National Single Socio-Economic Data (DTSEN) in accordance with Presidential Instruction Number 4 of 2025. In addition to rice, the agency is also distributing 458,076 litres of cooking oil for the aid allocation for the February-March 2026 period. Under this programme, each PBP receives 20 kilograms of rice and 4 litres of cooking oil from the government for two months. According to him, the rice being distributed is ensured to be highly suitable for consumption, as quality checks have been conducted beforehand before distribution to the recipient communities in the two districts. “In the distribution process, we involve the respective sub-district governments to make it faster and more targeted for delivery to eligible residents,” he stated.
