Bulog marks Idul Adha 1447H by reinforcing community food security spirit
Bulog has marked Idul Adha 1447 Hijriah as an opportunity to strengthen sincerity, sacrifice, and social compassion in its mandate to safeguard national food security. ‘With the spirit of Idul Adha, Bulog staff bear a great responsibility to continue serving the nation, emulating the meaning of sacrifice in every act of service,’ said CEO Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani in Jakarta on Wednesday. Rizal emphasised this during his sermon at the Idul Adha prayer held at Masjid Al-Balagh in Bulog Pos Pengumben Complex, West Jakarta. ‘Values of sincerity, responsibility, and compassion are expected to serve as collective energy to strengthen Bulog’s role in ensuring food security for the Indonesian people,’ he said. ‘Food security is not only built through systems, infrastructure, and policies, but also through strong humanitarian values,’ he added. ‘Idul Adha is not merely a commemoration of the examples set by Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail, but also a moment for reflection for all food sector BUMN personnel to strengthen their commitment to serving the nation through food security duties,’ Rizal stated. ‘Sacrifice teaches us total obedience to Allah SWT, sincerity in giving, and the courage to sacrifice for the greater good,’ he said. For Rizal, these values align with Bulog’s duties to maintain security, ensure food availability, and deliver benefits to communities across Indonesia. He also stressed that the spirit of sacrifice is strongly relevant to Bulog’s role as an institution executing national assignments in the food sector. ‘Values of sacrifice, compassion, and social responsibility are fundamental for Bulog staff in their work, especially in ensuring food is accessible fairly, evenly, and sustainably for the people,’ he added. This year, Bulog distributed 56 sacrificial animals to the public as a demonstration of social compassion and sharing blessings during Idul Adha, comprising 36 cattle and 20 goats. The animal sacrifice is part of an annual routine carried out with employees and their families within the Bulog Pos Pengumben Complex. ‘Beyond being an act of worship and obedience to Allah SWT, the sacrifice symbolises surrender, sacrifice, and compassion towards others,’ Rizal said. ‘Through this activity, we aim to embody spiritual values that not only live within worship but also reflect in workplace culture, public service, and the company’s dedication to the community,’ he added. He also noted that the spirit of sharing, compassion, and prioritising the people is integral to Bulog’s role in safeguarding food for the nation. The event commenced at 6.30am WIB and was attended by the CEO, Director of Human Resources and Transformation, Bulog staff, and their families residing in the Bulog Pos Pengumben Complex. The Idul Adha prayer was led by Ustadz KH. Nasrullah as imam, while the sermon was delivered by Bulog CEO Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani under the theme ‘Emulating Sacrifice to Build Community Food Security.’
