Bulog Madiun Distributes 8,352 Tonnes of SPHP Rice by Early July 2026

Perum Bulog Madiun Branch in East Java has distributed a total of 8,352 tonnes of rice under the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation Programme (SPHP) up to early July 2026, in a bid to maintain price stability amid market fluctuations. Agung Sarianto, Head of Perum Bulog Madiun Branch, stated that the distribution across Ngawi Regency, Madiun Regency, and Madiun City has been very successful. As of 8 July 2026, Bulog Madiun had distributed approximately 8,352 tonnes, reaching 103 percent of the government’s annual target of 8,037 tonnes. He said the smooth distribution of SPHP rice is part of Bulog’s efforts to keep consumer-level rice prices stable. The agency ensures that the subsidised rice distribution is well-targeted and directly received by communities in need or official retailers, aiming to shorten the distribution chain to keep prices low. Agung explained that in addition to smooth distribution, Bulog’s warehouse stock is very sufficient, with current Government Rice Reserves (CBP) in the Madiun working area reaching around 92,000 tonnes, enough to meet demand for a year. He noted that smooth distribution and sufficient supply will make it easier for the public to obtain rice, hopefully lowering market prices. Retail traders are allowed to order SPHP rice from Bulog, with a maximum limit of 2 tonnes per order, and may reorder once their stock is sold. Demand for SPHP rice in the Madiun and Ngawi areas is quite high, reaching about 100 tonnes per day. In addition to distribution through official retailers, SPHP rice is also distributed via the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) programme at the request of local governments and other agencies. On average, Bulog distributes 1-2 tonnes of rice per GPM event, with the ability to increase supply if public demand is high. The price of SPHP rice at Bulog warehouses is set at Rp11,000 per kilogramme, while the highest retail price (HET) in Java is Rp12,500 per kilogramme. Bulog is also awaiting the latest assignment letter for the July 2026 government food aid allocation, including confirmation of beneficiary numbers and rice volumes.
