South Lampung (ANTARA) - Perum Bulog’s South Lampung (Lamsel) branch has ensured that the quality of rice distributed in the food assistance programme for the allocation of February and March 2026 is in good condition and suitable for public consumption. The branch head of Bulog South Lampung, Fadrial Farhan, in Kalianda on Saturday, stated that all distributed rice has undergone strict supervision, from procurement, storage, to distribution to beneficiaries. “Yes, before the rice is distributed, we have ensured that the food assistance rice provided to the public is of good quality, clean, and meets the standards set by the government,” he said. He explained that the distributed rice consists of government rice reserves (CBP) managed professionally, paying attention to quality standards such as moisture content, breakage rate, and free from pests and odours. In addition, he said, Bulog South Lampung routinely conducts checks in storage warehouses to maintain the rice quality until it reaches the hands of the public. According to him, in implementing the food assistance programme, his side also coordinates with local government and related agencies to ensure distribution runs smoothly and on target. “The food assistance distribution for the February and March 2026 allocation, with a total of 184,677 beneficiary families, is carried out in stages according to recipient data and has been running since Saturday (18/4),” he stated. He emphasised that to ensure the food assistance quality is suitable for beneficiaries, Bulog South Lampung also opens a complaint channel for the public if they find assistance rice that does not meet standards, so it can be immediately followed up. “This food assistance programme is part of efforts to maintain food security while reducing the economic burden on the public, especially vulnerable groups,” he said. With strict supervision, Bulog South Lampung hopes that the 2026 food assistance distribution can run optimally, on target, and provide real benefits to the community in the region.
