Jakarta — Perum Bulog’s Regional Office for DKI Jakarta and Banten has assured the availability of essential food stocks, particularly rice and cooking oil, remain in very safe and sufficient condition to meet public demand through year-end.

“The public is urged to remain calm and refrain from excessive purchasing (panic buying), including in anticipation of major religious holidays and amid global geopolitical dynamics,” said Taufan Akib, Head of Bulog’s DKI Jakarta and Banten Regional Office, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) held by Perum Bulog’s Regional Office reached 221,123 tonnes. This stock comprises 131,781 tonnes stored in DKI Jakarta warehouses and 89,342 tonnes in Banten regional warehouses.

“This quantity is projected to increase further as domestic grain and rice absorption activities continue,” said Taufan.

Beyond rice availability, Bulog’s Regional Office is also maintaining stable cooking oil supplies. This is supported by the Ministry of Trade’s Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) policy, which allocates approximately 46 million litres of Minyakita cooking oil to Bulog nationally each month.

With these conditions in place, Bulog’s Regional Office ensures that rice and cooking oil availability for the public remains safe and guaranteed through year-end.

Beyond these two primary commodities, the availability of other essential goods is also being monitored as sufficient. Based on field monitoring, prices of various essential goods remain relatively stable and controlled in the market.

Therefore, Akib urged the public to shop wisely according to their needs and avoid excessive purchasing. The public need not panic as national food stocks are in safe condition and the government continues to ensure food availability.

“We encourage the public to remain calm and shop normally,” said Taufan.

Bulog’s Regional Office, together with local government authorities, continues to implement various measures to maintain food supply and price stability, including strengthening distribution networks, absorbing domestic production, and implementing various food stabilisation programmes.
