Bulog Jakarta-Banten records 69,042 tonnes of paddy absorption from farmers
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta and Banten regional offices of the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) have recorded the realisation of paddy and rice absorption from farmers reaching 69,042 tonnes of rice equivalent, supporting national absorption efforts.
“This achievement is part of the contribution from the Jakarta Regional Office as well as the Tangerang, Serang, and Lebak branch offices in supporting the success of national paddy and rice procurement and strengthening the Government Rice Reserve (CBP),” said the Head of Bulog Jakarta & Banten Regional Office, Taufan Akib, in Jakarta on Wednesday.
As of Wednesday, he stated, the national realisation of paddy and rice absorption has reached 3,008,626 tonnes of rice equivalent (3.01 million tonnes), or approximately 75 per cent of the 4 million tonne national target set by the government for 2026.
According to Taufan, this national achievement marks an important milestone in the history of national food procurement because, in less than six months, Bulog has successfully approached the annual target, which has historically been a major challenge in maintaining the balance between protecting farmers, strengthening government food reserves, and ensuring national food price stability.
This success is the result of collaborative efforts among all stakeholders, including farmers, central and regional governments, the TNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces), Polri (National Police), agricultural extension officers, rice mills, and the entire Bulog workforce, who have worked tirelessly throughout the harvest season.
He added that this achievement also proves that the government’s policy to maintain farmers’ dry paddy prices through the establishment of the Government Purchase Price (HPP) at Rp6,500 per kilogram is functioning effectively and is able to provide market certainty for farmers across Indonesia.
