Bulog Regional Office for DKI Jakarta-Banten, alongside Befood Community Jakarta and PT TTS Mitra Abadi, is empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the Jabodetabek area through a series of cooking classes. Nara Dhipa, Marketing Manager of Bulog Jakarta-Banten, stated that this initiative is part of the company’s efforts to engage more closely with the community, particularly MSMEs, which serve as the driving force of the regional economy.

“MSMEs play a strategic role in creating inclusive economic growth. Therefore, we continue to strive to present programmes that provide tangible benefits to the community, one of which is through Cooking Class activities that combine education, practice, and business network development,” Nara Dhipa said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday.

As a community focused on education, skill development, and empowerment within the food and culinary sectors, Befood Community Jakarta designed this agenda as a learning space to improve MSME competence amidst the dynamic challenges of the culinary industry. In the class, participants—comprising community members and female MSME entrepreneurs—received direct training on food processing techniques, menu development, and strategies to maximise high-quality food ingredients to create commercial added value.

“In addition to technical skills, they are also equipped with insights regarding product innovation and new business opportunities,” Nara added.

Nara explained that the event focused not only on training but also featured a bazaar of selected food products. The presence of the bazaar is expected to introduce various high-quality food products directly to the local community. Several participants reported gaining significant benefits from this collaboration; beyond acquiring practical knowledge and experience, the event served as an interactive platform to expand business networks, share entrepreneurial experiences, and build collaborative spaces among MSME players.

Moving forward, under the spirit of “Learn, Create, and Grow Together,” Befood Community Jakarta is committed to providing sustainable programmes that support MSME growth to become more innovative and highly competitive. The event, themed “From Kitchen to Opportunity,” took place with great enthusiasm at the Amanah Integrated Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) in Koja, North Jakarta, on Thursday.
