Bulog Ensures Rice Stocks in West Sumatra Safe for the Next Seven Months

Perum Badan Urusan Logistik (Bulog) in West Sumatra has assured that the availability of rice stocks is in a very secure condition and sufficient to meet the needs of the community for several months ahead. This guarantee provides reassuring news amid the dynamics of prices and food distribution challenges. The Head of the West Sumatra Bulog Region, R. Darma Wijaya, revealed that the current rice reserves stored in various warehouses amount to around 8,800 tonnes. In addition, an additional supply of rice reaching approximately 15,000 tonnes further strengthens food stock resilience in Ranah Minang. “With the total availability as such, Bulog estimates that the rice supply can meet community needs for up to seven months ahead. This condition places West Sumatra in the category of regions with stable and relatively secure food resilience,” he stated on Thursday (9/4). He added that this abundance of stock is the result of meticulous distribution planning and solid coordination with various parties, including local government and food suppliers.
